Billy started the business in 1985 and still plays a very active role, including conducting surveys and post-installation quality control visits. After completing his plumbing apprenticeship at a young age Ronnie developed a wealth of experience in managing and improving businesses in Canary Wharf.

I had a leak coming through the ceiling. I called A.C. Wilgar who attended the same day and quickly detected and repaired the leak. My sincere thanks to Louise in the office who dealt with the call and sent an engineer out within a couple of hours. I will certainly be recommending A.C. Wilgar in the future. I have already booked a boiler service with them for myself.

After ringing 4 plumbers of which 2 didn't get back to me and the others told me that they couldn't visit for 2 weeks I was more than relieved and happy that AC Wilgar came out the same day, diagnosed the problem, ordered the part which came the very next day and my shower was back up and running within 48 hours. Really professional and friendly service. Highly recommend!

I see this company has many good reviews, this has NOT been my experience. They fitted a brand new heating system and Worcester Bosch boiler for me 6 years ago. Last weekend the heating and hot water stopped working, I called them out to have a look, assuming it was nothing major. They charged me a 200 call out fee for the engineer to spend 15 mins looking at the boiler and to tell me there's nothing he can do.

He told us that it needs a new board and pump (I was shocked given its age) and we would receive a quote on Monday. We duly received a quote for just under 1200. Of course I was not prepared to pay that and called the manufacturer for a 2nd opinion. They attended, cleared a small blockage and fixed the board and covered the boiler until 2023 for all repairs for 240.

I strongly encourage anyone to avoid AC Wilgar at all costs, certainly do not request an 'emergency ' call out from them and always seek a second opinion if you decide you do want to use them. Thank goodness we didn't end up being conned out of nearly 1200. AC Wilgar has posted a response to my review. Worcester Bosch DID NOT diagnose the same issues as Wilgar's engineer. AC Wilgar stated that we would need a new board and a new pump for the boiler.

There was nothing wrong with the pump at all. ACWilgar stated in their response that they have tried to contact me. They categorically have not, despite having my mobile number and my husband's email address, to which they sent their extortionate quote. They try to discredit every negative review, and have even accused customers of being disgruntled ex staff, which is untrue. Worcester Bosch were extremely professional and diagnosed and repaired the fault at a reasonable price.

The engineer that attended from Wilgar did not come with any parts, misdiagnosed the fault and made no attempt to help us, we paid 200 just for him to show up at our home. Wilgar should be looking inwards and addressing the issue with their engineer, rather than calling Worcester Bosch and berating them following reading negative reviews, which I am aware they have done.

I would strongly advise anyone reading this review and Wilgar's response to be extremely cautious if you are considering using them. I cannot tell you what to do, but there are so many reputable boiler engineers out there. I thought that going to the manufacturer would be expensive, it wasn't, I would urge anyone to consider that first, but at the very least give AC Wilgar a very wide berth.

They were really professional on the phone, a quick service and the engineer who came out to me was knowledgeable, polite and the job was sorted in no time! Have used Wilgars for many years now. Boiler service always on time efficient and very professional. Missed your last year due to a.bereavment but still received a reminder this year. Confirmation of booking received but I had to cancel at last minute. Email confirmation received within 24 hours. So friendly but still very professional. Would recommend to everyone. Brilliant!.

Wilgar installed a new central heating boiler in May 2019 and have serviced the system annually. Unfortunately one of the control valves on the system started to play up and after explaining to their engineer Gary he was able to identify the fault and the valve was replaced by Gary within a 1/2 hr of his attendance at our home and central heating now working again properly

AC Wilgar, expensive, and charge the earth for what they call a premium service when its just shoddy workmanship! Engineers turn up late, in ripped joggers and trainers smelling of cigarettes, no face mask in a time when it's mandatory. 2 visits, both times led to it being something else. The senior engineer calls 5 days later (no hot water for those 5 days), flicks his cigarette from his van to the pathway. Again, no face-covering & washed-out shirt, with jeans covered in putty and his van dirty, the dashboard covered in paper and books (very unprofessional) the repair takes around 1 hour, but at no point were dust sheets used.

The bill, nearly 700 for what? 2 visits not to repair? or am I paying for the office member to tell me that it's a busy time & what did I expect her to do? If you're in the Orpington area, don't go with who claims to be the local trustworthy family-run plumbing firm, AC Wilgar are money-grabbing un professional pretending they provide poor service.

I needed a new boiler urgently as it broke down suddenly - called AC Wilgar and once I accepted the quote they called to book in installation, and even managed to sort me out faster than I thought possible, - boiler was installed quickly, and cleanly - protective mats put everywhere - such a thorough job and my heating has never worked so well - will be using them for all ongoing maintenance - am so impressed - they keep you updated by email and text - letting you know when to expect them, with a picture of who is coming - wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

My installer was Chris, who could not have been nicer or cleaner - the place was left immaculate. Huge thanks to the company for sorting me out so quickly and not leaving me in the cold!

Was really impressed, was the first time we used Wilgar, knew our old boiler was on it's way out, we had been paying British Gas monthly for a breakdown service, British Gas were unable to attend so we called Wilgar, they arrived within 20 minutes. As we expected new boiler required, they managed to replace the boiler in under a week, due to no heating and hot water, engineer was thorough, tidy, polite knew exactly what he was doing.

Also found out Wilgar do a breakdown service which includes plumbing and electrical and is much cheaper than British Gas, so signed up for this too and have cancelled British Gas. Thanks Wilgar.

Telephoned them at 11.10 am today for a plumbing emergency. They took my details (including details of the problem), and said a plumber would be with me imminently. Called again at 1.16pm, told a plumber would telephone me urgently to say when they can come. They asked me for details of the problem again (as though they hadn't taken this down first time). Explained they were busy today. Called again at 2.22pm, now told they don't deal with faulty toilets and I'd have to call someone else!

Why wasn't I told this at the original call when I explained the problem in some detail. Meanwhile my family has been without running water for best part of 4 hours. Pathetic. Avoid.

I called the A C Wilgars office at 8am in the morning to report I had no hot water and the Engineer Gary was knocking on the door by 11am with a valve changed and the problem sorted by 12pm. Very professional and speedy service which I will definitely be recommending to friends and family

I've used A.C. Wilgar Plumbing & Heating Ltd in the past to install a new radiator panel for my living room, and my first impression of their service was very positive back then. With my ageing boiler on the blink, I decided to reuse them to install a new energy efficient boiler system. From consultation through to installation and completion, I am constantly impressed with their professionalism, timing, knowledge, experience, and customer service.

Everything was kept tidy and I was well informed by Dan Batten (Engineer) throughout the installation. I would most definitely recommend them to anybody who needs a new central heating system that's much cheaper than British Gas quote.
