This opportunity has provided me with the chance to develop my skill set and build my self confidence. Following my trip I am now keen to begin a new career in a trade as a Plumber. Following the great experience I have had travelling I would now like to plan for my future and gain the qualifications required to allow me to work in this industry. With the experience I have assisting friends in the building trade I feel that this is a career I can learn and enjoy. I am originally trained as chef and although I enjoyed the work, I am now looking for a new challenge. I have always worked as part of a team and find that I work well in a team and alone. I am now looking to succeed in this industry and qualify as a Plumber so that I can do well in a new area of work. I enjoy meeting new people and traveling. I thrive from meeting targets and deadlines and enjoy feeling a sense of personal achievement Employment History Time travelling to Australia and South Africa (Aug 09 July 10) Receptionist in Australia (Sept 09 June 10) This experience allowed me to learn a lot about different countries and cultures. I spent time working on the reception at a group hostal during my time in Australia and taking on this role allowed me to develop my people skills and also pick up new administrative skills which I have not previously experienced. Sky Partners Chef (Feb 09 Aug 09) With the intention of spending another year travelling, I took this seasonal job to enable me to save money. This job was based at Blackpool Airport and I was responsible for the day to day running of the catering department. I cooked various food from snacks to full meals which also included preparation of food boxes for airlines. Time travelling around Australian, Vietnam and Thailand (June 07 Aug 08) This opportunity has allowed me to build my self confidence and develop further as a person. During my time traveling I did a number of jobs which enabled me to expand my skill set. The new skills I gained included use of IT systems, internet and e-mail. The jobs I did also included laboring for a property development company where the jobs varied daily, working in a timber and hardware store where I dealt with customer services, sales and manual tasks. The Air Balloon Pub- Kitchen Manager (Dec 04 June 07) I started in this role as a supervisor and within three months gained promotion to second chef and following this Kitchen Manager and the full running of a very busy kitchen. The tasks within this role included staff training, QC of food and meal standards to the company spec, stock taking reaching targets of 99.8% per week. As manager I also arranged regular kitchen meetings, interviews and staff rotas. I also achieved four 100% scores for my kitchen audits and only 3 people had previously achieved this in 250 outlets nationwide. Inndispensable Electrical Engineers Assistant (Nov 02 Nov 04) At Inndispensable I was a trainee, I felt that I learnt a lot in my time there and enjoyed learning and focusing on new tasks.
